TERRA CENE
A film by Rodrigo Inada & Nono Ayuso(From Nowness) In 1977 NASA sent the Golden Record into space aboard The Voyager, containing sounds and images selected to portray the diversity and beauty of life and culture on Earth. The hope was that this 12-inch gold-plated copper disk would one day be found by intelligent extraterrestrial life forms. But a mere four decades later, as we grapple with the catastrophic impacts of climate change, we must face up to the reality that as a species, we are not steering the planet in the right direction. As Jean-Jacques Dordain, former Director General of the European Space Agency and Deputy Chair of the Karman Project highlights, “now is the time for us as human beings to transition from passive to active, disengaged to engaged. We cannot lose contact with our Earth.”
Recorded In Paulo’s Berlin Berlin Studio and finished and mastered in the Santiago, studio in Mid Pandemic, Using remotely recorded Opera singers and a 12 piece strings chamber ensemble in Berlin.
Exhibited at the ArtScience Museum of Singapore: Jan and Feb. 2022.
